Actor Keith Barron has died at the age of 83.
The Duty Free star has passed away after a short illness, his agent has confirmed.
Barron also appeared in Coronation Street as George Trench for eleven episodes, as well as starring in Where The Heart Is, A Touch Of Frost, DCI Banks and The Odd Man.
The Yorkshire born actor is best known for his role as David Pearce in 80s series Duty Free, which ran from 1984 until 1986.
His final TV appearance was in 2016 on DCI Banks, in which he played Arthur Banks in ten episodes.
Barron’s agent said: ‘He had a long and varied career which included The Nigel Barton Plays by Dennis Potter of which he was immensely proud.
‘He is survived by his wife Mary to whom he was married for 58 years and his son, Jamie, also an actor.’
As news of the actor’s death broke, fans and friends took to social media to pay tribute.
