Kerr performed with the NHS choir group B Positive, which is a group made of vocalists who have sickle cell anemia or have loved ones with the disease. The group made it to the finale in June as the Wild Card Act.

The nurse joined the group after her son Kavele, 6, died from the disease.

Simonne Samantha Kerr performed at Britain’s Got Talent final two months before she was stabbed to death

This is the moment Simonne Samantha Kerr took to the Britain’s Got Talent final, just two months before she was stabbed to death.

Kerr was a member of the B Positive choir, the official choir of the NHS Blood and Transplant department who encourage people to donate blood.

During their audition they revealed that the choir are united because they either suffer from sickle cell disease, or have loved ones who have been diagnosed.; Simone’s son Kavele died in 2015 from sickle cell.

Speaking during her time in the competition, Simonne said of her son: ‘I got to spend six wonderful years watching Kavele grow and though there were a handful of hospitalisations in his short life, I was positive that he would live a full life into adulthood. I lost him in 2015.’

She added: ‘Singing can be such an uplifting experience so joining the B Positive choir seemed the obvious way to raise awareness of the urgent need for more young and black people to give blood while doing something positive and motivational.’

The choir lost the final to Lost Voice Guy.

Kerr died on 15 August at her home in Battersea south-west London; a neighbour in the wealthy suburb said a six-year-old boy dialled 999 when he found his mum, named on Thursday as Kerr, with a stab wound.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene in Grayshott Road earlier this afternoon.

Inquiries continue and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course, Scotland Yard said.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: ‘We sent an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew. We also dispatched London’s air ambulance. ‘Sadly, despite the efforts of our medics, a person died at the scene.’

The stabbing happened inside a flat in the affluent ‘Nappy Valley’ area of Lavender Hill, and a neighbour said the victim had ‘two kids, a six-year-old boy and a three-month-old’.

‘The eldest child is the one that called the police,’ she added.

‘He found her. My friend lives in the flat below and she told me.’

Armed police were seen breaking down the door and another resident said he saw officers leaving the house with a folding stepladder.
